Grazing Through Life by Miranda Schatten
published in Volume 1, Issue 1 on January 15th, 1994

I think
that we humans think too much.
We get a lot accomplished--
we work hard, build, play,
but at the end of our lives,
that's all we have--
the end.
Do you see cows worrying
about who that new Holstein favors?
Perhaps we would be more content
dying not in a hospital bed with perfumed roses,
but outdoors, looking up at the sky,
and with a mouthful of grass.
