If the naked statuary
isn't shamed, then why are we?
Marble penis, oaken chest,
surely pale compared with flesh.
Granite nipples, painted thighs,
cannot be the best designs!
We, in all our varied frames,
curtain our bodies, obsessed with shame;
why can't fellow patrons see us
walking naked through museums?
