today a waitress slip across the floor
sang a thirty year old song
pretended a mop was a deadly weapon
and then a wonderful lover
and danced a thirty year old dance
squealed with delight
said "come join me"
counted her charge tips
cried for her daughter
who never wants her to go away
and didnšt fold her napkins
nor fill her ketchup ramekins
before she said I quit
I quit
